DIY: Aisle Carpet, Thank You and Well Wishes Notes

While waiting for the final pieces from my photographer (Benjie Tiongco, the albums) and videographer (Red Sheep, the 15min video) before I make my review, let me share with you some personalized stuff I have manage to do prior to the big day.

The Personalized Aisle Carpet. 
Actually, I totally forgot about this one. It was only my coordinator who reminded me that I needed one. I panicked. Though she mentioned that Tjioe was willing to lend us a red one. But I don't think it would fit well to our over-all design. Hence the idea of a white personalized carpet. Luckily, I had it made via our printing business. Our coordinator helped us with the installation. Problem solved. :)

Thank you to my dear friend who designed this one! At least through this we got to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts! As for the well wishes, the turn out was pretty low but our hearts were touched (sometimes LOL) when we read through those sincere messages.

9. Wedding Coordinator - WEDDING TREASURES (5 STARS)

For a wedding coordinator, I must say they were reasonably priced vs. the output. Provide me with checklist, things to needed to be done and accomplished. She organized a supplier meeting with florist, caterer, lights and sounds, photo and video to run through what's gonna be the flow on that day. Better to include your host as well if possible. The checklist and the meetings were really very effective. To some cases, we were given options with its pros and cons which I very much appreciated since I would like to be involved in the preparation. Sometimes our meeting exceeds the time allotted just talking about the stuff beyond our wedding details. On the actual day, she had helped me relax during my bridal walk since I was exceedingly shaking stage fright perhaps. Overall, Hubby and I were very happy and satisfied on our very special day. Glad to have met them! :)

8. Make Up Artist - TONI RODRIGUEZ MAKE UP ARTISTRY (5 STARS)

Normally, I don't like putting make up. I tried several artist and yet I can't seem to fully appreciate make-up. For me, make up should enhance your beauty and not change your look. It should not only look good in the camera, but in person as well. Heavy/cakey make up is a no-no. Probably this is why I was drawn to her as we are on the same page. I was just simply amaze and impress with her work. I couldn't ask for more. You can check out the pictures below as to why. 

Note: Our call time was 3am. And my make up survive till 10pm in the evening with retouch only on the lips! :) Thanks to airbrush as well.

7. Groom & Ento Suits + Ento Gowns - AMONN VELASCO (4 STARS)

Working with him needs follow through. I am not saying its bad, its just that for the rate you are getting, number of clients he has across the globe and their manual system, definitely you also need to be organized on your end. For me, the effective way of working with him were the following: (1) Bring printed visual of your style/pegs for your female entourage, flower girls and bearers (2) Make your own checklist of who has done measurement, and fitting #1, #2 and final fitting -- including the Ninangs if they decided to have their gown made by Amonn (3) Check with him from time to time  - try to visit his shop and check out the first batch of gowns. (4) Make your own Statement of Account and have him re-check. I think where he excels is in suit and barong making. In the end, I would still refer him as a supplier definitely because he can still deliver on time.

Below are some photos --- teal/turquoise for female entourage, magenta for ninang and purple for the mother. Check out the color of the bearers I think it suits perfectly for a morning and/or garden wedding.

6. Bridal Gown - COCA COUTURE (5 STARS)

I am very happy with the way the dress turned out - lightweight, ruffled, and laced. The embroidery designs were all over --- the gown, veil, and even my headpiece (which I love!). I would describe it as elegant and timeless. Plus I wore this dress from morning till dawn. Carrying it around the metro was an ease. I really had fun working with Andrea. She's beautiful inside and out. Such a blessing meeting her. Below are some photos of the dress, enjoy!

Supplier Review Part 3: Catering & Reception Styling + Cake

4. Catering - TJIOE THE CATERER (4 STARS)

Lauri-at style for your guests looked clean and organized I must say. Anyways, we got to survey some of our guest for the feedback on the food. As expected, we did not have a chance to eat them as well do take outs. Over-all the guests loved the seafood entrees. The salmon, shrimp and crab. Below photo was the menu and the food served to our guest. If I were to improve my menu, I would take out the Yangchow Fried Rice as guests were very full and it was barely touched. 1 star goes for the improvement of vegetarian entrees (this was outsourced I believed) and the waiters' service. To be fair, I was told the waiters were understaffed that day unexpectedly supposed 40 down to 30, hence affected the quality of service -- some tables have had foods pulled out even if they were not yet finished.

5. Wedding Cake - ANGELYN CAKES (5 STARS)

Oh and that cake! Yes, it was the highlight of our stage. Unexpectedly it was huge. And that tree complemented the cake, amazing! It looked classy & elegant as we have envisioned and it tasted good as well. Groom was very happy! :)

Supplier Review Part 2: Strings + Event Styling & Florist

3. Strings - LIBANTE STRINGS (4.5 STARS)

As I asked around the guest after the wedding, they did say that they were impressed with the "Donna" the lady vocalist of the group. She sang "Love on Top" very well that she received an applause from our guests. Actually, the set list we have should be more on saxophone, specifically no vocals. Vocals will only be present during cocktails. The saxophone playing was good but we were not moved by it hence I'm living the 0.5 stars for improvement purposes.

4. Ceremony Styling & Flowers - ANGEL OF HEARTS (3.5 STARS)

For the ceremony styling, I just wanted it to be simple, clean and beautiful. Below are the pegs vs. actual pictures of the styling. For the stage, I think it lacks the height not proportion to the hall. As for the aisle stand, it lacks volume. They are known for styling the Century Hotel very well. Perhaps Christian wedding and Blue Leaf is out of their comfort zone hence the risk I took for them did not somehow pay off. Good thing I ordered the garden chairs and customized aisle runner.

As for the bridal bouquet, I am not very much impressed with the color maybe because I don't like yellow that much. I was hoping its either white/green with large accents or the pink, violet shade of bouquet and contains peonies at least. Option 1 might not be the one chosen maybe because the colors are not in season.

Supplier Review Part 1: Photobooth + Lights & Sounds + Hosts

Overall I am very happy and pleased with all our supplier who has been part of our very special day. There might be items that I was not expecting / have changed but should be tolerable. I don't think I did have a major stress with them except for our hotel reservations with Solaire Hotel and Casino.

1. Photobooth - BARELYTOAST (5 STARS)

Not your ordinary photobooth! They create a feeling of being in a professional photoshoot. The print out photo is matte finish and the paper is somewhat thicker than the usual other photobooth.

2. Lights & Sounds - JS MINA SOUND SYSTEM  (5 STARS)

I am an organizer and guest myself. Hence, when I met with JS Mina right from the start I told him that I don't like the mic error sound, it irritates me, alot!. On the actual day, I wasn't able to here it! The lights were also amazing and there was smoke machine during entrance till dancing. They can work well together with the host and the strings as I did not here any missed songs requested... So kudos for them as they did there job pretty well.

3. Hosting - DARLENE TAN SALAZAR & RANDY SEE (5 STARS)

I personally did not met Darlene till the day of the wedding. As I wanted a personal touch to the program I booked Randy's time. Randy and Darlene worked well together that day even though they did not meet personally. We only conversed via phone calls and emails. We were able to finalize the program with back up plans. Together, they executed such great hosting skills that you wouldn't notice that they just have met that day :)

Bridal Gown: COCA COUTURE

I just knew back then that I don't want it to be tube type. I want that back details, light and flowy dress! Thats it! I actually did not know what kind of design I want for my wedding dress till I met Andrea. Coca Couture was introduced to me by my make up artist, Toni. She mentioned this to me during our trial make up session. 

I did able to see the dresses made by Coca, the gowns were stunning! And that shape, she makes most body type look sexy in a way. I see a lot of evening gowns but few wedding gowns. But that few ones made me believe she knows a lot about it. The transaction was an easy deal, so you know its meant for you.

Below was the sketch design we have agreed upon.

Then, comes the actual one! We only did 1 measurement and 2 fittings! Thats it! (photo grabbed from Coca Couture)
